The Waggon Trail on the north side of the river and the Wattle Trail on the south bank each take about an hour along the river. The Mccracken Trail is an hour return to the McCracken Playground, offering the chance to explore rare paperbarks, river red gums, coastal lagoons, and abundant birdlife. The walk starts near the Hindmarsh Bridge where the trail crosses the SteamRanger railway line.

The walk is well signposted, making navigation easy. The Waggon Trail is paved, providing easier access for visitors with mobility impairments.
