Located near the town of Hyden in Western Australia, Hippo's Yawn is a unique rock formation that has become a popular tourist destination.

What makes Hippo's Yawn so special is its striking resemblance to a hippopotamus yawning, from which it derives its name. This natural landmark is about 12.6 metres (41 ft) tall and consists of a large granite rock that is estimated to be over two billion years old, making it one of the oldest rocks in Australia.
To get to Hippo's Yawn, visitors need to drive a short distance from Hyden before taking a short walk to the site. The rock formation's unique shape and textures make for a great photo opportunity, especially in the early morning or late evening when the sun's warm glow enhances its pinkish-beige color.
