Description
Hotel Kurrajong Canberra is a heritage-listed hotel located in the Canberra suburb of Barton, Australian Capital Territory, close to Parliament House and national institutions within the Parliamentary Triangle precinct.
The hotel was designed by the Commonwealth Chief Architect, John Smith Murdoch, and first opened in 1926. It has a strong association with Australia's political history, notably as the residence of Prime Minister Ben Chifley throughout his parliamentary career. The hotel was sold at auction in 2013 and has since been extensively renovated while preserving its heritage aspects. It offers contemporary quarters, some with balconies, in an upscale property with a bar/grill and a garden. The bright, airy rooms have a modern vibe and all the necessary amenities. Located in a quiet and elegant part of Canberra, the hotel is a great option for your stay in the capital. It is also conveniently located 4.3 miles from Canberra Airport.
