The Hume and Hovell Track Marchmont is a historic trail that allows visitors to follow the journey of explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell.
Stretching for 426km, the track passes through picturesque towns such as Yass, Wee Jasper, and Albury, as well as nearby towns of Tumut, Talbingo, and Tumbarumba, which offer a variety of landscapes, vegetation types, land uses, and historical sites.
Perfect for hikers and nature enthusiasts, the Hume and Hovell Track Marchmont provides breathtaking scenery and an epic adventure. The trail showcases diverse natural landscapes, including rugged countryside, public roads, fire trails, purpose-built single track, and over 100 footbridges. Along the way, there are 17 campsites, numerous picnic facilities, boardwalks for leisurely strolls, and three major bridges offering stunning views.

Getting to the start of the Hume and Hovell Track Marchmont is relatively easy. Beginning at Cooma Cottage in Yass Valley, visitors can follow the diverse track to Lake Burrinjuck and Fitzpatrick Trackhead before continuing into the Snowy Valleys. The trek on foot offers different terrains throughout the journey.
