Description
Kalbarri Skywalk is located in Kalbarri National Park, which is situated 485 km (301 mi) north of Perth, in the Mid West region of Western Australia.
The park preserves inland desert regions of red and white-striped Tumblagooda sandstone east of Kalbarri, particularly the lower reaches of the Murchison River and its gorge, as well as the coast south of the town featuring cliffs more than 100 m (328 ft) high.
Two new observation platforms accessible via a long footbridge offer breathtaking views over the Murchison River Gorge in Kalbarri National Park. The West and East Skywalk platforms jut out 25 m (82 ft) and 17 m (56 ft) respectively from the rock face, offering uninterrupted views of the surroundings. The West Skywalk offers 360-degree views of the landscapes, including the river gorge, while the East Skywalk is directed towards the Murchison River. Set within the park's natural environment, the platforms are situated 100 m (328 ft) above the gorge and offer visitors a unique view of one of the most complex geological regions on the earth.
Visitors can witness the impressive views of the Murchison River Gorge while walking on the Skywalk platforms. The hike to the Skywalk is an easy walk trail offering spectacular views. Visitors can also indulge in activities such as sightseeing, boating, fishing, picnicking, bushwalking, abseiling, horseback riding, as well as scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, and swimming in the Indian Ocean. From Kalbarri, scenic cruises along the Murchison River and flights over Kalbarri National Park are available.
