The Kalimna Jetty Walk in Lakes Entrance, Victoria, Australia offers stunning views of the town and the waterways in the area.
The walk takes you along Reeves Channel and provides elevated views of Lakes Entrance. You can enjoy watching waterbirds diving for fish and appreciate the beautiful azure waters, red granite rocks, and coastal succulents along the peaceful bush track. The walk is best enjoyed on a sunny day, and it takes approximately an hour to complete. The difficulty level is intermediate with some steep climbs.
To start the walk, head to the Marine Parade Reserve where there is a playground, toilets, and a water tap available. Follow the signs to Kalimna Jetty by taking a left at the junction to cross the North Arm. Along the way, you'll have nice views over North Arm from the highway. Once off the bridge, take the left path again onto a peaceful bush track. Keep your dog on a lead to protect the native flora and fauna. As you emerge from the trees, you'll be treated to a stunning vista of azure waters, red granite rocks, and coastal succulents. The rocks forming the track are also beautiful. You'll encounter circling and diving birds as you make your way towards the jetty.
At Kalimna Jetty, you'll find a small but lovely spot with public toilets nearby. If you're interested, there is a rainforest area that you can explore further. To continue the walk, climb up the stairs near the jetty carpark for more views. Once you've completed the climb, you'll reach Hotel Road where you can enjoy a fantastic view from a new lookout.
