Description

Kangaroo Lake, also known as Lake Charm, is a beautiful freshwater lake located on the western side of the Murray Valley Highway, between Swan Hill and Kerang in Victoria, Australia.

It is one of the largest and deepest permanent freshwater lakes in the region, supplied by the Torrumbarry Irrigation System. The lake has strong links to the indigenous community and is named after a former local indigenous tribal Chief, Chief Cham. It was also thought to be named Lake Charm after a misspelling. The Kangaroo Inn (Scantleton's Hotel) was built as a changing station for Cobb and Co and was the primary hub of a once-thriving community.

Kangaroo Lake offers opportunities for water sports and fishing, with boat ramps available. It also features lovely grassed areas that are perfect for kids to play. It is a popular spot to spend Australia Day. The best time to visit Kangaroo Lake is during the summer months (December to February) when the weather is warm and ideal for water activities.

Getting to Kangaroo Lake is easy as it is located on the Murray Valley Highway between Swan Hill and Kerang. It is easily accessible by car and has boat ramps for those who want to bring their own boats. Kangaroo Lake is a perfect destination for anyone who wants to enjoy water activities and fishing while surrounded by beautiful views. It offers a variety of experiences for couples, families, and anyone looking to have a good time.
