The lodge is situated on 110 acres of native New Zealand bush at the base of Mt. Karioi, giving it a feeling of being away from it all while still being only 8 kilometers to Raglan town. The lodge caters to travelers, backpackers, families, and large groups seeking off-beat NZ accommodation. The accommodation is dorm-style in bunk rooms that sleep four people per room. There are three room blocks with five rooms in each for accommodation up to 60 people. Karioi Lodge also features five private double rooms, which contain a double bed and bunk bed sleeping three people each. Heaters, clean linen, pillows, and duvets are supplied in the rooms.
Karioi Lodge offers un-crowded rooms, equipped kitchens, powered campervan sites, lazy hammocks, blissful sun decks, mountain bike hire, unique glow worms, pool table and ping pong, BBQs, computer access and Wi-Fi, 42” plasma satellite TV, and lots more! The lodge has plenty of space to lounge in the sun on the wrap-around decks or get cozy inside on comfy couches. After a day of surfing, mountain biking, or exploring the area, guests can relax in the hammocks or enjoy a game of pool or table tennis. Guests can stretch their legs on the hour-long Loop Track, or watch the sunset from Inspiration Point. After dark, guests can visit with glow worms that line the driveway.
