Description
If you're an experienced ocean kayaker seeking an exciting sea paddle, the Kayaking Mystery Bay To Narooma Mystery Bay could be perfect for you.
Launching from Mystery Bay at the end of Mystery Bay Road, you will head north past a series of small headlands and beaches to the mouth of Corunna Lake. Along the way, you will pass Loaders and Fullers Beaches and continue around rocky outcrops at Bogola Head. As you round Glasshouse Rocks, you will get a stunning view of Narooma Beach and the main Narooma headland. It is recommended to stay a reasonable distance offshore while passing the bar of Wagonga Inlet. Once you’ve passed, head towards the landing, which is north of the breakwater at Bar Beach, immediately north of Narooma bar.
Primitive camping grounds, toilets, and a BBQ/picnic area are available at Mystery Bay. For those seeking amenities, a BBQ/picnic area, toilets, and a playground are nearby at Apex Park, North Narooma. The Kayaking Mystery Bay To Narooma Mystery Bay can be done year-round, but keep in mind that it is exposed to prevailing onshore breezes. Visitors should be aware of the prevailing winds and the bar’s hazards, even in low waters. To visit, you can drive and join organized kayaking tours or bring your kayak.
