You can launch into the river near the boat ramp at Annetts Parade or use the boat ramp at Kingston Place, Tomakin if you’re a novice kayaker. Toilets are available near both the boat ramps at Mossy Point and Tomakin.
Kayaking the Tomaga River in Mossy Point is a great way to enjoy the area's natural beauty. You’ll experience scenic views of the river and see the diverse flora and fauna in the area. If you take the eastern tributary at the junction of Jeremadra and Mogo Creeks, you can paddle a 22-kilometre return trip from Mossy Point to the end of Mogo Creek. You can also opt for shorter paddles if you prefer.
The best time for kayaking in the Tomaga River Mossy Point is during the warmer months between October and April. The water is warmer during this time, and you’ll be able to enjoy the area's natural beauty without adverse weather conditions.
To get to Tomaga River Mossy Point, head south along the Princes Highway for approximately 16 kilometres from Batemans Bay. Turn right at George Bass Drive and continue for about 5.5 kilometres.
