Description
Kelvin Powrie Conservation Reserve, previously known as Kelvin Powrie National Parks Reserve, is a protected area located in Coombe and Keith, South Australia.
It is situated about 8 kilometres northwest of Keith's town centre, stretching between the Dukes Highway and Melbourne-Adelaide railway. The reserve covers an area of 17 hectares and consists of a limestone plain with scattered sand dunes. The native vegetation and wildlife in the reserve are diverse, including pink gum low open woodland, heath understorey, and coastal white mallee woodland. Visitors can enjoy the facilities such as a parking area, picnic site, and a walking track that offers a breathtaking view of the heath association. Kelvin Powrie Conservation Reserve is classified as an IUCN Category III protected area and was listed on the Register of the National Estate in 1980.
