Description

Kingaroy Apex Park and lookout is a popular stopover for tourists located at the northern entrance of Kingaroy.

Originally the site of the first public hospital in Kingaroy, this park has a fascinating history. Developed in the mid-1960s by the Apex Club, the large trees seen at the park today were originally planted from the hospital's grounds. Visitors can learn about the unique history while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

The park provides visitors with a range of things to see and do. Take a pleasant stroll along the walking track through the native bush that leads to the lookout on Coral Street. The viewing platform from the lookout offers panoramic vistas of Kingaroy and its surroundings. Kingaroy's iconic peanut silos, Tarong Power Station, and the Coolabunia Hill, home to the late Joh and Lady Florence Bjelke-Petersen, can be seen from the lookout. Expansive views of the majestic Bunya Mountains can also be enjoyed when looking towards the south-west.

Kingaroy Apex Park and Lookout has a large playground for kids, complete with towering shade trees perfect for relaxing underneath. There's also plenty of green space to spread out a picnic blanket and enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the serene surroundings. All the play equipment is on rubber-based soft fall material designed to reduce impact.

Kingaroy Apex Park and Lookout is open year-round and can be excellent to visit at any time, depending on the weather. The pleasant climate during these months provides perfect opportunities for outdoor activities.
