Description
Kinnairds Wetland Numurkah is an oasis of natural and constructed wetlands located north of the Broken Creek, near Numurkah, Victoria.
It covers an area of nearly 100 hectares and is part of a larger wetland scheme designed to enhance water quality. The wetland can be easily accessed and offers a range of trails, bird hides, and picnic areas.
Visitors to Kinnairds Wetland Numurkah can enjoy constructed trails suitable for walking and cycling, including the Red Gum Walk Loop Track, the Wetland Walk Loop Trail, and the Young Red Gum Trail Link. Each trail offers a unique experience and showcases different habitats and wildlife.
The wetland can be visited at any time of the year, but birdlife is particularly abundant just after the rains. Facilities at Kinnairds Wetland Numurkah include a car park, coach parking, and picnic areas. Pets are allowed, but there are no toilet facilities on-site.
Kinnairds Wetland Numurkah is jointly managed by Moira Shire Council, Goulburn-Murray Water, and Goulburn-Broken Catchment Management Authority. Visitors can obtain a map and bird list from the Visitor Information Point in Numurkah newline.
