Description

Koetong Trestle Bridge is a historic wooden bridge located in Koetong, Victoria, Australia.

Built in 1915 for railway use, the bridge has been faithfully restored and is now a popular destination for a short, scenic walk or ride.

Visitors can take a nice walk from the parking area through the bush to a viewing area, where they can capture a few pictures and stretch their legs. The High Country Rail Trail, a 22km long section of Rail Trail, can be accessed from Edgar's road at Koetong. This trail includes both Koetong Trestle Bridge and Edgars Road Trestle Bridge, and it terminates at the old Shelley Station. Another nearby trestle bridge worth exploring is Boggy Creek Trestle Bridge, which is just four kilometers from Koetong and offers a picnic table and a short scenic walk.

In addition to the bridge, Koetong is also home to the historic Koetong Pub, which dates back to the early 1870s. Visitors can stop by the pub for a hearty country meal or a light refreshment.

The best time to visit Koetong Trestle Bridge is during the spring and autumn months when the weather is mild and the scenery is beautiful. To reach Koetong, visitors can turn right off Murray Valley Highway onto Edgards Rd just before Koetong Hotel newline.
