Description

Popular picnicking place for local people especially during spring when it abounds with wildflowers.

Korrelocking is dominated by mature Salmon Gum and Gimlet woodland and is a sanctuary for kangaroos and other forms of animal and bird life indigenous to this part of the wheatbelt. On the higher ground in the north-east granite outcrops are surrounded by York Gum and Jam. A dense Melaleuca thicket surrounding a seasonal swamp occurs on heavier soils in the south-western corner.

Forty-four bird species have been recorded on Korrelocking including the Pacific Heron, Black-shouldered Kite, Whistling Kite, Little Eagle, Black-tailed Native-hen and Long-billed Corella.
