Kyeema Conservation Park

Kyeema Conservation Park, previously Kyeema National Park, is a protected area located in Kyeema, South Australia.

It covers an area of 346 hectares and is traversed by the Heysen Trail.

Kyeema Conservation Park was proclaimed a wildlife reserve in 1964 and later became Kyeema National Park in 1967. It was reconstituted as Kyeema Conservation Park in 1972, with additional sections added in 1974.

The park is ecologically significant due to its vegetation, which provides shelter for native birds and animals. It features a dissected plateau with open forest and dense vegetation along drainage lines. The park supports excellent populations of Mount Lofty faunal assemblages and is home to various endangered and rare species.

In 1983, the park was damaged by the Ash Wednesday bushfires, leading to a regeneration project involving local students. The park is now known as The Children's Forest and the reforestation project continues under the guidance of The Friends of Kyeema Conservation Park, a volunteer group.

To access the park, you can follow Woodgate Hill Road from Willunga or Blackfellows Creek Road from the east. The park is classified as an IUCN Category III protected area.
