Description
The Laanecoorie River Recreation Reserve is a relaxing camping and fishing spot located at 1 Main Road, Laanecoorie.
It offers a quiet and peaceful environment by the river, with town water and public toilets available for visitors. The campground provides easy access to boating and kayaking, with a boat ramp and kayak entry ramp located nearby. Fishing enthusiasts can take advantage of the river's proximity and try their luck at catching a range of fish. Visitors can explore the area and learn about its history through information signs dotted throughout the campground. One of the main attractions is the historic Janevale Bridge, completed in 1911 and designed by Sir John Monash. A great walking track leads off from the Janevale Bridge area, offering spectacular views and passing through River Redgums that line the banks of the Loddon River. The trail also has several bench seats where visitors can rest and enjoy the sights, scents, and sounds of the river environment. Before embarking on the walking track, visitors can appreciate the elegance of the Janevale Bridge and observe the Floodplains Riparian Woodland on the banks of the Loddon River. The Laanecoorie Reservoir Weir is also worth viewing, as it serves to regulate water flows used for irrigation and town supply further down the Loddon River. The 1.2km walk along the trail is an easy stroll of grade 2, suitable for all visitors. It is recommended to carry water, wear a hat, and apply sunscreen, especially during high temperatures in summer. The Laanecoorie River Recreation Reserve can be visited all year round, with the best period being between spring and autumn when the temperatures are mild. To get
