Aramac, QLD

Description

The Lake Dunn Sculpture Trail is a 200-kilometer art trail that stretches between Aramac, Lake Dunn, and Jericho.

It offers visitors the opportunity to explore the trail and the local region in more detail. The trail features 40 uniquely designed sculptures made from recycled materials, depicting various aspects of Outback life.

Created by local artist Milynda Rogers, the sculpture trail showcases diverse sculptures such as jackaroos on horseback, a koala in a gum tree, and an emu and her chicks. The sculptures are constructed from rusting recycled and upcycled odds and ends, adding to their unique charm.

In addition to the sculpture trail, visitors can also explore other attractions along the way, including the Gray Rock historical site, Horse tailer’s Gorge, Healing Circle, and Lake Dunn. Picnic essentials and plenty of water are recommended for this journey.

Visitors can obtain a map from the information center in Aramac, Lake Dunn, or Jericho to get started. The road section from Aramac to Lake Dunn is sealed, while the remaining road is unsealed with some corrugated sections. Camping options are available at the Lake Dunn camping grounds or outside Aramac.

The Lake Dunn Sculpture Trail is known as the ‘Largest Outdoor Art Gallery in Australia’. Visitors are encouraged to take their time to enjoy the unique sculptures and the breathtaking landscapes along the way. It’s an experience like no other that visitors shouldn't miss while in the area.
