Camping is available at the two campgrounds near the lakes, as well as at bush-camping sites along the Murray River. Lake Hattah is known for its abundant birdlife and diverse wildlife. The best time to visit is after rains when the lake looks especially beautiful. To get there, visitors can enter the Hattah-Kulkyne National Park off the A79, which connects Mildura and Ouyen newline.
