Description
Lake Torrens National Park is a unique Australian wilderness experience located around 345 kilometres (214 miles) north of Adelaide's city centre in South Australia.
The park covers a vast expanse of stark wilderness and is home to a salt lake that stretches 250km in length. Lake Torrens is generally a dry salt flat, but occasionally fills with water, attracting a variety of birdlife. These inland saline lakes are rare and have formed unique ecosystems that support various plant and animal species adapted to the harsh environment. The park is protected as a Category VI area, and visitors must follow guidelines to preserve its natural beauty and wildlife population newline.
