Lee-Anne Townrow is a mixed media painter and textile artist.

Lee-Anne Townrow has always been captivated by the rich, textural canvas of the natural environment - the palette of colours found on a single leaf, the perfectly imperfect surface of a Banksia nut, the flaking delicate layers of a Paperbark trunk, the worn and weathered story told on the surface of a shell.

Exploring patterns and textures on her backgrounds is such a fun way to start an artwork! The focus then becomes about the subject matter which usually incorporates natural elements collected from in her surrounding environment. She explores mark making processes to capture the changing surfaces revealed through time and weather.

Being a multidisciplinary artist, Lee-Anne primarily works in oil paint, but also explore ideas that incorporate printmaking, sculpture, and textiles. With a love of teaching, she finds great joy in sharing skills and learning from others. The opportunity to regularly immerse herself in the stunning natural environment on her doorstep, ensures her work continues to grow and evolve.
