Lochern National Park, located in Longreach, Central West Queensland, is a sprawling 24,300-hectare park known for its diverse climate and wildlife.
It has a rich history with the Aboriginal people utilizing the land's seasonal transformation. The park is home to unique flora and fauna species, particularly in the eastern parts where the Thomson River channels provide important habitats. Camping is available in the park, but the dirt road can be challenging for non-4x4 vehicles. It's important to note that the park experiences abrupt weather changes, and minor showers can lead to floods.
