Description
Long Beach is a beautiful two-kilometre long beach located on Beecroft Peninsula.
It offers a serene and secluded escape for tourists. The beach is easily accessible with two car parks located at the North and South ends.
Visitors to Long Beach can enjoy a variety of activities. It is perfect for sunbathing, taking long walks, building sandcastles, and swimming in the clear turquoise waters. The calm waters also make it a great spot for kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkelling.
Long Beach faces south-west, providing shelter from the strong North East wind. During the summer, temperatures average around 25°C, creating a comfortable beach experience.
Long Beach is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit is between November and April when the weather is warm and there is less chance of rainfall. Visitors should check the weather forecast before planning their trip and be prepared for sudden changes.
To reach Long Beach, visitors will need a private car. It is approximately 25 km from Nowra. From Sydney, visitors can take the Princes Motorway south towards Nowra, then turn onto Jervis Bay Road and continue to Currarong Road. From there, turn onto Piscator Avenue. Visitors can park their cars at either end of the beach. Another option is to fly from Sydney to Canberra and drive down to Long Beach, which takes about 3.5 hours.
