Description
M O Moran Reserve in St Kilda is a popular public space located in Elwood, offering stunning sunset views and a range of amenities.
It features expansive lawns, a playground, and bike and pedestrian paths that are part of the Bay Trail route. The reserve provides a relaxing environment for visitors to enjoy the coastal surroundings.
In addition to its recreational facilities, M O Moran Reserve is also home to an off-leash dog park. Constructed in collaboration with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), the park offers a safe space for dogs to run and play. It includes perimeter fencing, seating, paths, and access points, as well as rubbish bins and drinking fountains with dog bowls. The council has also added a garden bed to enhance the natural environment and provide shade through tree planting.
M O Moran Reserve can be visited throughout the year, with sunset being a particularly beautiful time to experience the park. Its location near the coast makes it an ideal spot for beachside picnics or leisurely bike rides.
Getting to the reserve is easy, as it is accessible by car or public transportation. Visitors can take a 10-minute drive north of St Kilda along the Nepean Highway or travel by tram along St Kilda Road.
As part of their commitment to reconciliation, the council acknowledges and respects the Traditional Owners of the land, the people of the Kulin Nations. They pay tribute to their Elders, past and present, and recognize their ongoing connection to the land.
