During the summer months, high temperatures can reach upwards of 30°C, making it best to plan activities early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Macintyre Falls Picnic Area is located in Atholwood, approximately 10 km away from the town center. The easiest way to reach the picnic area is by car. Visitors can follow the main road south from the town center until they reach the turnoff to the picnic area. Due to the park's remote location, it is recommended to bring a GPS or a map.
