Description
Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve is a beautiful conservation park located on the Blackall Range east of Maleny, in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia.
The reserve was created to protect the flora and fauna of the Maleny region. The region holds many large landforms, including the iconic Glass House Mountains, which were formed thousands of years ago from volcanic activity. The reserve consists of a subtropical rainforest with a variety of plant species, including the Australian red cedar. It is also home to a diverse range of wildlife, including birds, marsupials, bats, lizards, snakes, and frogs. Visitors can enjoy facilities such as the Rainforest Discovery Centre, walking tracks, car park, BBQ facilities, and a cafe. The Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve Discovery Centre is an award-winning attraction that was opened in 2017.
