Description
The Melbourne Cricket Ground is Australia's largest, oldest and most popular sports venue.
It has seen some of the most prestigious sporting events, including the first-ever Test, the 1992 World Cup final, the 1956 Olympic Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 final. It has also hosted many music concerts, as well as a mass by Pope John Paul II in 1986. With a capacity of 100,024 people, 95,024 of them seated and 5000 standing, the MCG is home to the National Sports Museum, featuring some of the most treasured memorabilia in Australian sporting history.
