Description

Middle Brother National Park, located in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, is a protected area spanning over 1830 hectares.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating ecosystem flourishing in the park, which is underpinned by the area's high rainfall and fertile volcanic soils. The national park boasts a stunning tapestry of eucalyptus forests and rainforest, with sheltered areas housing towering Flooded Gums and Blackbutt species.

The park was established with the primary objective of safeguarding two of the most extensive, coastal black beech trees globally- the Bird Tree and Benaroon. The Bird Tree- known to be over three centuries old- reigns supreme as the most massive tree in the park. With 69 meters in height and 11 meters in circumference, it's an incredible testament to the power of nature and the value of conservation.

For the Birpai, the aboriginal people residing in the region, the Middle Brother National Park represents significant cultural importance. To access Middle Brother National Park, the nearest major settlement is the beautiful town of Laurieton. Visitors are invited to explore the park's walking trails, which offer serene landscapes of natural beauty dotted with impressive trees, including Little Brother, a cousin of Big Brother, the Bird Tree.

Middle Brother National Park is an oasis of ancient trees, unique wildlife, and breathtaking views that's not to be missed!
