Description

Millionaires' Walk is a luxurious coastal walk in Sorrento, Victoria that takes you through the backyards of some of Australia's wealthiest residents.

To begin the walk, head to Lentell Avenue in Sorrento where parking is limited but available. The entrance to Millionaires' Walk can be hard to find, but look for the grassy area at the end of Lentell Avenue and the gate with a 'pick up your dog poo' sign on it. Once you pass through the gate, you'll enter another world.

The walk offers breathtaking views of Port Phillip Bay, stunning coastal scenery, and luxurious millionaire's mansions. It's a perfect way to spend a refreshing afternoon on the Mornington Peninsula. Along the walk, you'll see impressive homes and explore their backyards. You'll also come across Sorrento-Portsea Artists' Trail signs that display paintings depicting scenes from the area. The historic significance of Millionaires' Walk is notable, as it was where the Union Jack was first used to claim possession of Australia. Don't forget to check out the monument where the British first raised the Union Jack.

During the walk, you can take a break and enjoy a stunning view of the pristine beach below with turquoise waters reminiscent of the Caribbean. The walk also provides access to some of the best public beaches, offering an excellent opportunity to take a dip in the cool and clear waters. The best time to visit is during the warmer months from December to March, although it can get busy during summer when the Oak trees bloom and attract visitors. To get to Sorrento, you can drive through the Mornington Peninsula or take the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry.
