Description
Mingenew Hill in Mingenew offers stunning views and a glimpse into the region's heritage.
It is conveniently located near the town center and can be reached by walking or driving over the railway line on Mingenew – Mullewa Road.
In the past, Mingenew Hill served as a watering area for cattle before they were sold and transported to southern destinations. Visitors can still see remnants of this heritage as they explore the hill.
The hill itself provides a lovely area for exploration, with a cairn situated at the top. Visitors should be cautious of the stone steps leading up the hill. During a good year, Mingenew Hill is a visual delight with its abundance of everlastings. It is a popular spot for wildflowers, picnics, and photography enthusiasts.
At the bottom of the hill, visitors can find Drovers Rest, a place to take a break and learn about Mingenew's droving heritage. It is a beautiful area to relax, refresh, and observe the surroundings.
While Mingenew Hill is a year-round destination, the best time to visit is during the wildflower season, which occurs between August and October. Visitors can easily access the hill by car, as it is just a short drive from the town center.
