Located in Bouddi National Park, the Mount Bouddi (Dingeldei) Picnic Area Bouddi is a serene and secluded spot that is perfect for a bush picnic.
The picnic area is sometimes referred to as the Dingeldei picnic area, named after a former trustee of Bouddi National Park.
The Mount Bouddi (Dingeldei) Picnic Area Bouddi is an ideal destination for nature lovers, families, and small groups of friends. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere amidst the eucalyptus trees and the sound of birds. The picnic area provides picnic tables and allows visitors to roll out their own picnic blankets. On sunny days, visitors can relax in the shade provided by the volunteer-built Dingeldei Shelter. The area’s rustic setting enhances the feeling of being a bush pioneer, which adds to the picnic experience.
The picnic area can be visited throughout the year; visitors should pack according to the weather conditions. The summer months, from December to February, are hot with an average temperature of 24°C. The winter months, from June to August, are moderately cool with an average temperature of 10°C. Autumn and spring are pleasant with temperatures ranging from 14°C to 20°C.
The Mount Bouddi (Dingeldei) Picnic Area Bouddi is easy to access by car. It is located on the Bouddi Coastal Walk, approximately 1.5 kilometres from Maitland Bay Information Centre. Visitors should follow the walking track uphill from the information centre to the area. The area is also accessible via the Pretty Beach to Pebbly Beach Road, which runs through Bouddi National Park.
