Description
Mt Glenrowan Lookout Walk is a scenic hiking trail in Wangaratta South that leads to Morgans Lookout, offering breathtaking views of the Ovens and King Valleys and the Victorian Alps.
The walk begins with a short steep climb up the sealed road to the communication towers, followed by an easy to moderate walk to the lookout point. Along the way, you can spot woodland birds, reptiles, and Grey Kangaroos, as well as Austral Grass Trees and Spurwinged Wattles.
To access the walk, take the Taminick Gap Road and park on the dirt carpark on the side of the Ridge Track before the gate.
The highlight of the walk is the stunning panoramic view from Morgans Lookout, with expansive views of the Ovens and King Valleys and the Victorian Alps. The walk also takes you through beautiful Upper Ovens River country, with gum forests, stringybark ridges, and granite outcrops.
The best time to visit is during the cool months from March to November, when temperatures are more pleasant for hiking and wildlife spotting.
