Located just a short boat ride away from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, the Mudjimba (Old Woman) Island dive site is a world-class dive location that offers an unforgettable experience to both snorkelers and divers.

The island boasts an excellent spot for coral gardens starting at just two metres deep, offering brilliant dives filled with incredible natural wonders.

The island has an extensive field of both hard and soft coral thriving on the rock. As you venture out further, you'll come across many gullies, ledges, bommies, and small drop-offs to explore. The spectacular beauty of the hard and soft corals covering the rocks is a sight to behold. This makes Mudjimba Island dive site an excellent location for both novice and seasoned divers.

The incredible variety of nudibranch species and invertebrates will provide the perfect subjects for macro photographers. A wide range of butterflyfish, lionfish, moray eels, wrasse, angelfish, morwong, surgeonfish, damsels, pufferfish and gobies are easy to find on every dive.

Mudjimba Island is also a good place to spot marine turtles, with a good population found resting in the shallows. It's an incredible experience to swim alongside these gentle creatures, and they make for fantastic encounters for divers and snorkelers alike.

The best time to visit the Mudjimba Island dive site is during the winter season, from June to August. During this time, the sea is known to be calm, offering divers and snorkelers an excellent underwater visibility experience.
