Nancy Tost

I love creating something beautiful. Whether it be in the garden, at the sewing machine or with a paper and pencil, I am constantly needing a creative outlet.

I love capturing the human figure and always remember life drawing as my favourite subject 26 years ago when I studied at Adelaide Central School of Art. I will always be grateful for what I learnt when I was so young. The love of people lead to portrait commissions and over the years that has evolved into, jewellery making, sewing bags and picnic rugs, tee-shirt designs, mandalas, and several exhibitions one with my daughter and uncle in SA on our love for birds.

I am inspired by nature, music and life’s experiences. I was drawn to this coast through my love of surfing and I have been working in that industry for 23 years. The ease and the passion for this place and its coast has challenged my attempts to do art full time. It’s taken a significant event for me to realise the time is NOW and I’M READY!

I will have mandala style works on wood and handmade bags as well as designs on tee-shirts, drawings and more! I am looking forward to my first Open Studios 2022!
