Nangar National Park

Nangar National Park is a beautiful wilderness located approximately 252 kilometres west of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia.

The park covers a sprawling area in the Nangar-Murga Range and is home to the magnificent Nangar Mountain.

The park boasts a variety of trees, including eucalyptus, blackpine, scribbly gum, and ironbark. Visitors will also find a diverse range of shrubs, such as spider flowers, thyme spurge, nodding blue lily, and waxlip orchids. The park's vegetation is unique and not commonly found in other regions of Australia.

Bird enthusiasts will appreciate Nangar National Park as it offers a great opportunity for bird watching. The park is home to a diverse range of bird species, including wrens, thornbills, falcons, hawks, peregrine falcons, and glossy black cockatoos. Additionally, the park is inhabited by various animals, including eastern grey kangaroos, grey, redneck, and swamp wallabies.

Established in 1983, Nangar National Park has a rich history. It initially covered 1,550 hectares of bushland and later expanded to 9,196 hectares with the addition of the Nangar State Forest. Visitors can explore the site of the original "Dripping Rock" homestead, which has been converted into a shearing shed. Nangar National Park offers visitors a unique and unforgettable experience.
