Never Never Picnic Area is a magnificent place to relax and enjoy a leisurely picnic surrounded by tall trees. The wide forest clearing provides an ample space for the kids to play, while the shady trees offer respite from the heat of summer days. Catch glimpses of rare birds, such as Rufous fantails, golden whistlers, and eastern yellow robins by bringing your binoculars.
The area is a convenient starting point for several walking tracks, including Rosewood Creek and Red Cedar Falls. Visitors can take the Casuarina Falls circuit and Blackbutt walk, which also leave from the same location. For more challenging adventures, explore the beautiful landscape of the rainforest while mountain biking the undulating 10-kilometre trail from Dorrigo Rainforest Centre to the picnic area.
The Never Never picnic area is open all year round, and has both sunny and shady spots perfect for different times of the day. Spring and summer have warmer temperatures, making it ideal for a picnic, while autumn and winter are perfect for trekking and bird watching.
Never Never Picnic Area is only a short, 10-minute drive from the township of Dorrigo. From there, take Waterfall Way towards Armidale and turn left at Dome Road. Follow the signs to Dorrigo National Park and then to The Glade picnic area.
