Start your evening at Tawharanui Regional Park. Embark on a nocturnal kiwi-spotting expedition through native bush, followed by a stargazing adventure. Sleep overnight with an optional glamping add on
Our journey begins at the end of Takatu Road, within Auckland's Tawharanui Regional Park. Gather with the group to learn about the evening's itinerary and the park's diverse ecosystem before starting your adventure.
Start your thrilling kiwi-spotting expedition as dusk falls. Navigate through the park's native bush with your guide, staying alert for signs of kiwi activity. Along the way, uncover fascinating facts about these iconic birds.
Next, move to a secluded stargazing spot within the park, far from city lights and with minimal light pollution. Use the telescopes and binoculars provided by your guide.
Watch as the night sky transforms into a stunning canvas filled with countless stars, planets, and celestial wonders, while learning about astronomy and indigenous sky lore.
Experience the enchantment of Tawharanui's shoreline as bioluminescent plankton light up the waters with a natural blue-green glow. At certain times of the year, these tiny organisms create a mesmerizing display, turning the waves into a shimmering spectacle of light.
Finally, bid farewell to your fellow adventurers as you return to the car park. If chosen, stay overnight in a glamping tent, falling asleep to the soothing sounds of waves and Kiwi's.
