They are thought to be 800 years old, adding to the allure of this scenic location. The picnic area is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely afternoon picnic with family and friends or gobble up a delicious meal amongst the trees as you take in the stunning views.
If you’re up for a leisurely walk, be sure to take on the Coachwood Loop track that starts from the picnic area. It is an easy walk and would take 20-30 minutes to complete, where you can experience the true beauty of the area. The Norman Jolly Picnic Area is dedicated to nineteenth-century forester, Norman Jolly, who made remarkable contributions to the teaching and practice of forestry in Australia. A few meters from the picnic area, you'll observe a couple of historic logging arches, which are relics of a time when the land was being logged. These arches provide an insight into the history of the region and are a testament to the sustainable use of the forests.
