Nyinggulu (Ningaloo) Coastal Reserves

White sandy beaches, crystal clear waters adjoining rustic and rugged coastline typify the incredible Ningaloo experience.

Located along the coast adjacent to and including part of Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area and the Ningaloo Marine Park, the Nyinggulu Coastal Reserves stretch over 220 kilometres along the Ningaloo Coast and covers over 70,000 hectares, offering endless places to explore.

The reserves are the traditional home of the Baiyungu and Jinigudira people who are thought to have lived in the area for over 32,000 years. The reserve is jointly managed by traditional owners and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to protect the rich cultural heritage and natural values of the area.

Come for a day and visit one of the many places where you can walk along the beach, launch a boat, swim, surf, fish or snorkel or take your time exploring the area and camp overnight at one of the many campgrounds along the coast. Imagine waking up to the sound of waves lapping the shore and being presented with a view of the pristine waters of Ningaloo Marine Park.

North of Coral Bay: Ningaloo Coast and Cardabia Coast.

South of Coral Bay: Warroora Coast, Gnaraloo Coast and Quobba Coast.

There are a number of coastal campgrounds suitable for all types of camping. Camping is permitted in designated campgrounds only.

There are no toilets at any of the campgrounds and visitors must bring their own portable chemical toilet.

Campfires are only permitted seasonally and in designated campgrounds.

There are other accommodation options available such as Red Bluff, 3 Mile, Warroora Homestead and Bruboodjoo.

Private, unlicensed all-terrain vehicles/quad bikes (ATVs) and other off-road vehicles are not permitted in the reserve.

There is no drinking water available within the reserve. Please make sure you carry enough water for drinking and washing for the duration of your visit.

Watch out for wildlife on the roads and drive slowly and carefully in the reserve. Reduce speed if driving at dusk or dawn due to increased wildlife activity.

Dogs are permitted in designated areas only. Where dogs are permitted, they must be kept on a leash at all times. The Department conducts baiting with 1080 poison as part of its Western Shield animal conservation program in the park.

Ningaloo Marine Park is a popular destination for recreational fishing. The marine park is divided into a number of zones not only to conserve fish populations and habitat but also to allow visitors to responsibly enjoy a great fishing experience.
