Description
The New Zealand Museum of Toys and Collectibles is a one-of-a-kind display located in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The museum's collection includes a wide range of new and old toys and collectibles, such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Fun Ho, Tonka, Lego, V8 Super cars, dolls, Coke memorabilia, military dioramas, and much more. The treasures on display are the result of years of collecting, and the toys are not all in pristine condition, as toys are meant to be played with.
The museum's display is designed around inclusion, ensuring that everyone who visits, whether they are 8 or 80, can find something they have, had, or wanted to have within the displays. The aim of the museum is to trigger memories and generate nostalgia that brings a smile and occasionally a tear for long-lost toys. Visitors can take a sneak peek through the museum and experience a broad range of new and old toys and collectibles.
The museum is an amazing collection of toys from many years, and although there must be thousands of exhibits, the way it is set out allows for easy movement around. The museum is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The museum is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. The admission fee is $5 for adults. In summary, the New Zealand Museum of Toys and Collectibles is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves toys and collectibles.
