Orange Botanic Gardens

Located on a naturally undulating 17 hectare site, Orange Botanic Gardens is a picturesque destination that boasts impressive native and exotic plant collections.

It was officially opened in 1988 in celebration of the Australian Bicentenary. The Gardens feature a range of plantings that include original native and exotic trees, as well as newly developed displays. The Orange Botanic Gardens are an ideal location to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery and district views. As well as being a popular site for birdwatching, the Gardens provide numerous options for a family picnic or a relaxing stroll. One of the popular activities at the Gardens is the Country Walk. The walk includes the original homestead garden, billabongs, exotic and indigenous woodlands, a heritage orchard and rose garden, set below the country church and a sundial that visitors can be part of! Located between the two billabongs is the Federation Arch, a stainless steel sculpture designed by Bert Flugelman and donated to the residents of Orange by the Orange Regional Arts Foundation. A great photo opportunity, the sculpture structure is impressive and worth a visit while exploring the Gardens. The Orange Botanic Gardens are open daily from early till dusk, and admission is free. Playground and barbecue facilities area available nearby at the Orange Adventure Playground.
