Description

Palm Grove Nature Reserve is a 240-hectare reserve located in the Ourimbah Creek valley, just a few kilometres northwest of Gosford on the NSW Central Coast.

It offers multiple recreational activities such as bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, picnicking, and a chance to experience a part of the Great North walk. The reserve is a magical place with lush rainforest, rare species, and a peaceful atmosphere that provides an escape from urban life. It is particularly known for its unusual and threatened species of frogs, including the red-eyed green tree frog and stuttering frog. The reserve is also a part of the iconic Great North Walk, a scenic walking track that stretches from Sydney to Newcastle. Visitors can enjoy varied terrain and an abundance of wildlife, making it a favorite spot for birdwatchers, bushwalkers, and photographers. The best time to visit is during spring and autumn when the weather is mild. Palm Grove Nature Reserve is easily accessible by car, located around a 90-minute drive or 60 km north of Sydney. From Gosford, visitors can head northwest on Woy Woy Road for about 5km and turn left onto Palm Grove Road. The entrance to the reserve is 700m from the turnoff, and the car park is just 1km from the entrance newline.
