Description

Parsley Bay Suspension Bridge is a hidden gem in Sydney Harbour, located in the Vaucluse area.

This century-old cable suspension footbridge is set amongst 14 acres of natural harbor reserve. The walking track to the footbridge is located to the right of the seawall by the beach, where you will find a lovely trickling waterfall. At the end of the clearing, the timber pedestrian footbridge awaits.

Standing on the bridge, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the residences along the Parsley Bay foreshores, with water views extending out into Port Jackson. Below, you can observe children snorkeling and swimming, couples enjoying a romantic dip, fishermen trying to catch something on the wharf, and people picnicking on the green lawn or sipping coffee at the café.

After crossing the bridge, you can head down the steps to the seawall promenade by the wharf and then to the beach, which is perfect for various activities such as swimming, fishing, bird watching, reptile spotting, and picnicking. There is also a café and a playground for children, making it a great spot for a family outing.

Continuing along the track, you can explore The Crescent, where you will find benches to relax and take in the stunning views over Parsley Bay. Further walking will lead you to the seawall promenade, sandstone caves, rock overhangs, and sculptures that depict the native flora, fauna, and marine life of the ecosystem within Parsley Reserve.

Parsley Bay Suspension Bridge is a perfect spot to visit year-round, with summer being the best time to enjoy the beach.
