Description
Peacehaven Botanic Park Highfields is a charming park located just a 15-minute drive from Toowoomba's CBD in the serene locality of Highfields.
It offers a peaceful and relaxing environment for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.
The park was donated by a local dairy farmer, Stan Kuhl, in 2004 and officially opened in 2006. It has since been expanded in 2012, increasing the total area to 5.4 hectares. The park features magnificent trees, established gardens, and grassy areas with stunning views towards the Bunya Mountains.
Visitors to the park can take relaxing walks along wheelchair-friendly pathways that pass through various garden zones, such as the rainforest, rose garden, and herb garden. There are also picnic tables, barbecue facilities, a grand rotunda, seating, open spaces, and amenities for public use. Children can enjoy the nature-inspired adventure playground, which includes a water pump, creek, and sandpit.
The park is accessible all year round and can be visited at any time when it is open. The best time to visit is usually in the warmer months, but visitors should be aware of the risk of bushfires during the summer period and take suitable precautions.
Getting to the park is easy, as it is accessible by car with ample parking facilities available. Public transport options include taking a bus and alighting at the Highfields Shopping Centre, which is a short walk away.
It caters to all age groups and provides a unique recreational experience that will leave a lasting impression on visitors.
