The Point Leo Foreshore Reserve, managed by Point Leo Foreshore, includes picnic and barbecue facilities, camping areas, and access to the surf beach. A gate fee is required to enter the reserve. The camping area has over 168 sites, with only 45 powered sites, and is open during the summer months. The area also has a general store that provides basic necessities and supports an active surf lifesaving club and boat club. Several public amenities, including sheltered BBQs and picnic tables, are available in the area. Point Leo Point is a small coastal village established in the 1940s, with few permanent residents and mostly holiday homes and weekend travellers in the 1980s.
