Description
Located in Red Hill, Red Hill Peony Estate is a lush peony farm that was established in 1886.
The farm has transformed over the years into fields of peonies, growing for five seasons. Visitors can go on a walking tour of the fields and gardens to see the beautiful blooms of coral, white, light pink, deep pink, and red peonies. There are two special events at the farm: Farm-Gate Days and Peak-Bloom Farm-Gate Days. Farm-Gate Days are free and allow access to the new Barn-Shop, while Peak-Bloom Farm-Gate Days require a pre-booked ticket that includes access to the Barn-Shop, all Estate gardens, and tasting plates of peony "Produce".
In addition to exploring the peony gardens, visitors can purchase potted peonies and taste the peony "Produce". Artist Jillian Holmes-Smith also showcases her original peony artwork at Red Hill Peony Estate. The best time to visit is from late October to late November when the peonies are in full bloom. Ticket sales for Peak-Bloom Days begin in mid-October, and the dates vary each year depending on the Spring temperatures. To get to the estate, visitors can easily access it by car or public transport. During Peak-Bloom Days, there is no onsite parking, so visitors are advised to park at the Red Hill Community Park and take the shuttle buses.
