Description
Heralded ‘King of the Verdelho’ by wine critics and with Australia-wide trophies for Chardonnay and Sparkling Chardonnay, Robert Channon wines are grown and made on the estate at Amiens.
Peggy & Robert Channon have been handcrafting the region’s finest wines since 1998, and are incredibly proud to produce all their award winning wines in their own vineyard and winery.
The winery is blessed with amazing soils, elevation, stunning views and a great water supply. A stroke of luck was that back in 1998 the nursery supplying the vines couldn’t supply the chardonnay they had ordered so they had to plant verdelho, and the rest is history.
Producing award wining wines is only possible with an incredible, knowledgable and dedicated team.
From the head winemaker Paola, down to our team of pickers, every member of the Robert Channon Winery family plays an important role in producing wines you will love.
The nearly 20 acres of vineyards at Robert Channon Wines produce approximately 50 to 60 tonnes of grapes each year.
The grapes grown in their own vineyards are the only source for the wines produced- they grow Verdelho, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay in the whites and their red varieties are Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Uniquely the entire vineyard is under permanent netting.
