Located in the Never Never region, Rosewood Creek Walking Track Never Never offers a serene and moderate loop through the breathtaking World Heritage-listed rainforest.
The track starts and ends at Never Never picnic area and is best taken in an anti-clockwise direction, providing a leisurely afternoon walk.
The walking track passes through rainforest, waterfalls, and creeks. The towering blackbutt and tallowwood trees are some of the largest in the area, and the occasional giant stump is a reminder of earlier logging history. As you walk towards Coachwood Falls, you'll go through a variety of trees such as coachwood, crabapple, and sassafras. The stunning Rosewood Creek is home to sparkling pools and cascading waterfalls, making it a paradise for budding photographers. You can find a shady spot along the bank for a snack or for birdwatching using binoculars. Spring sees an explosion of blooming trees, including the famous Dorrigo waratah. If you want to add more adventure to your walk, turn at the Red Cedar Falls junction and return via a spectacular route.
Rosewood Creek Walking Track Never Never is a great destination all year round, but spring is undoubtedly the best time to visit, thanks to the blooming trees. The walking track is more enjoyable on dry and sunny days.
To reach the Never Never picnic area, head to the town of Bellingen, which is around 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour by car. Travel along the Waterfall Way towards Dorrigo for around 8km before taking a left turn onto North Bank Road towards the Never Never Creek. The walking track is easily accessible from the picnic area.
