Description

Royal Beach Mornington is a small, west-facing beach located just 190 metres south of Schnapper Point in Mornington.

The beach measures only 190 metres long and features a combination of pebbles and sand. Two massive red sandstone bluffs, which rise between 10 to 20 metres, enclose the beach. It is also backed by grassy bluffs and the Esplanade. From the beach, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Melbourne's city skyline to the north on a clear day.

To access the beach, visitors can use the steps and a sloped walkway down the hillside. The narrow beach is beautiful when viewed during high tide. Parking is limited at the top of the cliff along the Esplanade but is available at the Mornington Park or the main shopping center, both a short walk from the beach.

Royal Beach Mornington is a dedicated dog-friendly off-leash beach all year round, providing a beautiful location for dogs to explore Mornington's coast. The beach provides a variety of features for dogs to explore, including grassland/scrub, rock pools, and cliff-sides. The one access point with cliffs at the back of the beach means that dogs are relatively safe from the busy road above.

Royal Beach Mornington is a beautiful location to visit all year round. During the summer, it provides an ideal location for sunbathing or building sandcastles on the beach. During the winter, visitors can enjoy the picturesque views of the coastline and the city skyline in a relaxed atmosphere.
