History
Hay Cottage was originally built about 1870 by Ernest Goertz. The cottage later passed to Charles Hay who raised a family there. The construction of the North Pine Dam in the early 1970s required the resumption of the cottage's land. In 1989 the cottage was relocated to 27 William Street in Dayboro and is occupied by Hay Cottage Arts and Crafts Association Inc.Forbes Creek Provisional School opened on 20 August 1880. On 1 January 1909 it became Forbes Creek State School. It closed in 1960.At the 2011 census the locality and surrounds recorded a population of 497.
